When I was a child my mum took me to see an acupuncturist. I’d had a difficult time growing up, and, feeling let down, I was angry and shut off. Not knowing what else to do, she drove me there every week, even though I really didn’t want to go.
During the sessions I refused to give much about myself away but do you know, in the end none of that mattered. Over the following months, thanks to the treatment that I received, I began to find my voice and was eventually able to say what I wanted and needed to the people around me.
Those few sessions in a tiny little clinic with a kind, patient and experienced acupuncturist were transformational, beginning a life-long journey of reconnecting with myself and my family.
It wasn’t until many years later, feeling a little unsure of where my path lay but determined to make a difference in the world, that I returned to acupuncture. And since that day I have never doubted that this is what I am meant to be doing.
I share this story so that you can understanding why I believe so passionately in the transformative power of acupuncture.
Over the many years I have been in practice, time and time again I have witnessed acupuncture’s ability to transform people’s physical and mental well-being; galvanising, shifting and enabling the body to find a way to heal.
Because our bodies do know how to heal if we give them the chance. Sometimes they just need a little help to do so.
