Would you like to feel calmer and more in control of your emotions?
Would you like to respond to the stresses of the modern world in a different way?
To breath your way through the struggles of each day?
Modern life is hard. We work long-hours, are overloaded by social media and pressures to consume, to earn more and to spend more. We are disconnected from nature and from ourselves, with no time to really feel or to heal when we get sick. Juggling work, family, and everything else, it can be difficult to find the time to take care of yourself and your mental health.
But there is a way to feel more connected, more in control and more able to cope with the stresses of modern life.
Breathwork is a simple meditation and relaxation technique that offers us a way to take a step back from the daily grind and focus on what matters most: our well-being.
Practising breathwork regularly boosts the immune system, helps process emotions, reduces anxiety and stress, and helps to overcome compulsions and negative thinking.
And the most incredible thing is that it enables us to take control of our own emotional and physical well-being. By learning a few simple techniques, you will have a support system right at your fingertips, whenever you need it. You will learn:
There are many different schools of breathwork practise, with some overlap between many of them. You may have heard of a few such as Somatic or the Wim Hof method.
I practise and teach Taoist Qi Gong Breathwork, which I learned from White Tiger Qi Gong Master Instructor and founder, Tevia Feng.
TaoistQi Gong Breathwork is unique because it goes that bit further than other methods. It unifies the breath with the body and the spirit. In this way you can heal your emotions as well as your body.
I run a weekly breathwork class every Thursday 12.30 – 1.15pm.
The classes run term-time only at St.Matthias Church, Ditchling Road.
The cost is £5 and all profits are donated to the Hollingdean Foodbank.
Please bring a yoga mat and blanket if you have one!
