Acupuncture in Brighton

When your body isn’t doing what it should, life can start to feel a lot smaller.

Perhaps you’re living with pain that’s gradually become “normal”. Maybe you’re exhausted all the time, struggling with hormonal symptoms, navigating fertility treatment, or living with a chronic illness that affects every decision you make.

You may have seen several healthcare professionals already. You may have been told your blood tests are normal, that your symptoms are something you’ll “just have to live with”, or that there’s nothing more that can be done.

This is where acupuncture can offer something different.

Welcome to Katy Bradshaw Acupuncture

Katy Bradshaw Acupuncturist in Brighton

My name is Katy Bradshaw, and I practise trauma-informed acupuncture in Brighton. I specialise in treating women’s health and chronic illness. For over fifteen years I’ve helped people better understand their bodies, reduce symptoms and improve their quality of life using Traditional Chinese Medicine.

My role isn’t simply to treat symptoms. It’s to understand the whole picture. Every appointment is an opportunity to explore the connections between your physical health, emotional wellbeing and lifestyle so that together we can create a treatment plan that’s tailored to you.

Whether you’re looking for support with fertility, menopause, chronic pain, fatigue, digestive problems or anxiety, my aim is always the same: to help you feel more like yourself again.

HeALTHCARE THAT SEES THE WHOLE PERSON

One of the things my patients often tell me is that this is the first place they’ve felt able to tell the whole story.

Symptoms rarely exist in isolation.

Pain affects sleep. Poor sleep increases anxiety. Hormonal changes influence mood. Chronic illness can affect work, relationships and confidence. The body doesn’t separate these things, so neither do I.

Traditional Chinese Medicine takes a whole-person view approach, looking beyond a diagnosis to understand the patterns that may be contributing to your symptoms. Combined with trauma-informed care, treatment is gentle, collaborative and personalised to your individual needs.

Every person who walks through my clinic door arrives with a different story. Listening carefully to that story is where meaningful treatment begins.

Katy’s extensive experience is clear as soon as you meet her. However, it is Katy’s compassion and intuition that make her such an exceptional practitioner. Katy put me at ease from the very first session, taking time to listen and explain why symptoms or emotions are happening. Thank you for being so fantastic and for having such a positive impact on my health and wellbeing.

What is acupuncture?

If you’re considering acupuncture for the first time, you may be wondering exactly what it is and how it works.

Traditional acupuncture has been practised for thousands of years and is used today alongside conventional healthcare to support a wide range of physical and emotional health conditions. Treatment is always tailored to the individual, because no two people experience illness in exactly the same way.

If you’re curious about the principles behind Traditional Chinese Medicine, how acupuncture works, or the evidence supporting it, I’ve explained more here.

New to acupuncture?

Trying something for the first time can be daunting and it’s completely normal to have questions.

  • Does acupuncture hurt?
  • What happens during the first appointment?
  • How many sessions will I need?
  • How much does treatment cost?

I’ve created a dedicated New Patient Hub to answer the questions I’m asked most often and help you feel confident before your first visit.

My approach

I don’t believe health is simply the absence of disease.

It’s waking up with enough energy for the day ahead.
Sleeping through the night.
Having a menstrual cycle that doesn’t dominate your life.
Feeling able to spend time with family without worrying about pain.
Trusting your body again.

These are the things I help my patients work towards every day.

Alongside acupuncture, we may also explore practical ways to support your health through sleep, stress management, movement and lifestyle. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s helping you make realistic, sustainable changes that support your wellbeing over the long term.
