If you’ve typed “best acupuncturist in Brighton” into Google, you’re probably at the beginning of a journey — curious about whether acupuncture could help you, but not quite sure where to start. That’s completely understandable. Choosing someone to trust with your health is a big decision.
Rather than simply giving you a list of names, I want to help you understand what to actually look for — so that whoever you choose, you feel confident you’re in safe hands.
The first thing to check is whether a practitioner is registered with the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC). The BAcC is the UK’s leading regulatory body for acupuncture, and membership means your practitioner has completed a degree-level training, holds full insurance, and keeps their professional development up to date. Look for their logo on the practitioner’s website, or search the BAcC directory directly to find registered practitioners near you.
If someone isn’t BAcC-registered, check that they’re regulated by an organisation listed on the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) register.
Acupuncture is a broad discipline. Some practitioners focus on pain and musculoskeletal conditions; others specialise in fertility, pregnancy, mental health, or chronic illness. It’s worth finding someone whose practice genuinely reflects your needs — not just a generalist.
I specialise in trauma-informed acupuncture for fertility, pregnancy, mental health and chronic illness. Over more than 15 years of practice in Brighton, I’ve developed a deep understanding of these areas and the particular kind of care they require.
The therapeutic relationship matters enormously in acupuncture. Before committing to a course of treatment, it’s worth having a conversation — most experienced practitioners will offer a free initial call so you can get a feel for their approach.
I offer all new clients a free 15-minute telephone consultation. It’s a chance for you to ask questions, tell me what’s going on, and decide whether we’re a good fit — with no pressure.
Reviews and testimonials give you a real sense of what it’s like to be treated by someone. Look for specific, detailed feedback — not just star ratings — that reflects the kind of care you’re looking for.

I’ve been practising in Brighton since 2011, and I’m a proud member of the British Acupuncture Council. My approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and always tailored to the individual. I work from a calm, welcoming clinic in Fiveways, Brighton and every patient is given the time and attention they deserve.
If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d love to hear from you.
